Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum Exhibits

The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum is host to many great interactive exhibits. With four floors of interactive exhibits, it makes for a great educational day trip.  This museum has enough to keep its visitors busy for hours, however, guests typically spend about 2.5 hours exploring the venue.

The Museum offers many exhibit spaces including: Concourse, Preschool Gallery, Legacy Gallery, Theater of Design, Lyons Country Store, DTE Energy Foundation Light and Optics as well as MediaWorks. If you haven’t visited in a while, then you won’t want to miss the two newest exhibits, All About You and Steam Park.

Don’t Miss These Exhibits:

If you are a family with younger children then you will want to plan a little extra time to spend in the H2Oh! exhibit. My children, ages 7, 10 and 13 can easily spend 30 minutes in this space. Also, its a great idea to pack an extra set of clothes for younger guests, just in case they get soaked.

Families can enjoy some time pretending to shop at the Lyons Country Store. This 1930’s theme store is perfect for practicing dramatic play skills, learning about history, as well as building social skills.

Another great space for younger guests is the Preschool Gallery. This space provides visitors the opporunity to dress up like a fire fighter, splash in the water table, as well as many other opportunities to build and experiment.

If you have a tinkerer in your family, then you won’t want to miss Steam Park. This space offers guests the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of mechanical exhibits. Check out the Maze Ball machine, or check out the unique digital Roulette Curve.
