Burton Community Park - Huntington Woods

About fourteen years ago my friend Nora took me to a wonderful wooden park in Huntington Woods.  I have been back a few times over the years and always remembered it as a fantastic place.  We visited that park again today.  The Burton Community Park is located on Nadine and is the primary playground for Burton Elementary which is located at 26315 Scotia.

The play area is built with primarily wood.  The slides are metal and there are a few plastic components here and there.  It was state of the art when it was built.  It is still a great place to play.  The park consists of many different play structures, slides, swings, a running track and more.

Two great features of this park include a tot lot designed for younger children which includes a sand box and a working drinking fountain on site.

The kids had a grand time checking out all of the play equipment.  The major downfall was all the garbage that littered the play area.  It seems that the visitors would take more pride in the park.  It was sad to see the park so littered.
