Safari Playground - Holly: closed

This Location is Closed!

This past weekend Rosa and I took a trip out to Holly to visit Safari Playground.  This indoor play center is located just minutes from I-75 on Holly Road.  It was very easy to find and is in the same shopping plaza as Holly Foods Supermarket and McDonalds.

I stood at the counter for about two minutes before asking a patron if she knew where an employee was located, and she said that she went to the kitchen.  I waited another minute before letting myself in and heading toward the restroom.  The employee came out of the kitchen area and met us in the middle.  I paid for our entry and continued to the restroom to change Rosa.

We then took Rosa's shoes off and she ran off to play.  Safari Playground is very similar to Jungle Java.  In fact, it looks like they purchased the equipment from the same company.  They have many different steps to climb, a spiral slide, and a set of three slides.  They make great use of the floor space with ropes for swinging, cushions for jumping, rope mazes and so much more.  They also have a section just for younger children.

In addition to the play structures, they have a few video games that require quarters, a large party room, a great kids menu, relaxing chairs and a massage chair for parents.

Rosa had a grand time playing and the play structure and center was clean.  This is a great place to play if you are located in northern Oakland County.

  1. I brought the children I babysit here one day. I am from holly but I don't think I will spend the money to come back here again. The children were all very much older (like 9 and 10) and mean. The staff was horrible, food was not great. The kids had fun BUT they LOVE Castaway Cafe in Howell kiddy corner from Tanger Outlets. The pricing there for admission is also cheaper an the place is WAY bigger. restaurant.com offers this gift certificate ( http://www.restaurant.com/rdc/castaway-play-cafe-howell-american-restaurant-rid=415280?&mcn=00119678 )
    Here is the playgroungs Page

  2. Gosh Brittaniann, I'm sorry you had a bad experience there. I have added Castaway Cafe to my list of things to do. I have heard other moms talk about them too. It is just so far for us. I'm glad you enjoy it. If you are looking for a great place for younger children, I highly recommend Boogie Babies in Rochester. You can find my review here: http://metrodetroitmommy.blogspot.com/2011/03/boogie-babies.html

  3. We have been going to Safari Playground for a few years now and I have never had a bad experience there. I would much rather go there then Jungle Java. I found Java to be over priced, filthy, and full of mean kids. One kid was mean enough to break my son's friend's finger by grabbing his hand and twisting it backwards..

  4. Someone in my Moms group told me that they are now closed, moving to Wixom or somewhere. She went out there this week.
