The Robot Garage - Birmingham

The Robot Garage is located on Eton Street in Birmingham, just south of Maple Road, set back off the road, just north of a set of industrial buildings. Their robot logo makes them easy to spot.  The Robot Garage opened June 1, 2011 and provides a hands-on experience with robots and Legos that is truly unique.  They provide an entertaining and educational environment year-round to all those interested in building and how things work.  The Robot Garage offers a wide variety of services from birthday parties, classes, workshops, camps, Masters Program, drop-in play, and so much more.

Rosa and I visited the Robot Garage for their preschool drop-in play.  When you first walk in, you see an impressive display of Legos.  Right now they are featuring their Halloween castle and many other Lego creations built by many of the visitors.  The store front offers a wide variety of Lego Kits, robots, and robot kits, along with many other great items.

Just beyond the store front lies the drop-in play area which features two tables filled with Legos and Duplos.  Rosa had a ton of fun playing with the Duplos.  Three other children and their mothers were also playing and we joined them.  There were animals, tunnels, traditional blocks, and even a seesaw.  It was fun watching Rosa build with a seemingly infinite number of blocks.

The Robot Garage is a place that makes you feel at home.  The employees are all very helpful and attentive.  The owner is very passionate about making The Robot Garage a safe and fun learning space for each person (yes even adults) that walks through the door.  Drop by to check out their preschool drop-in play Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
