Yates Cider Mill

Yesterday was just perfect for a trip out to a local cider mill.  We visited Yates Cider Mill in Rochester Hills.

Opening their doors for the first time back in 1863, Yates is one of the oldest continually running businesses in Michigan.  The mill is powered by the Clinton River which also provides a beautiful backdrop to enjoy your cider and doughnuts.

You can buy apples, cider, pies, apple butter, doughnuts, fudge and so much more at this mill.  Enjoy a stroll along the Clinton River, visit the petting farm (they had two goats on our visit),or have a picnic along the river.

Admission and parking is free.  During the weekend (for an additional fee) Yates offers pony rides, face painting and spin art.

During our visit we enjoyed a pint of cider and a couple of cinnamon donuts (cost $3.95).  The cider and donuts were super yummy.

You can get more info about Yates on their website or Facebook page, or see more images in our gallery.
