Shaklee™ Blogger - Inspiration

Inspiration -

You are an inspiration to others.  You may never know whose lives you have touched with your story, kind words or attitude.  The same is true for negativity, but I won't dwell on that.  Here are a few short stories about people who have inspired me

My Kindergarten Teacher Mrs. Sherman -
Being a lefty is difficult.  Everything (especially 30+ years ago) is made for the right handed folk.  Cutting with scissors and writing were especially difficult for me.  I remember Mrs. Sherman sitting at the table with me and showing me how to cut with righty scissors.  Because if you don't know anything about the school lefty scissors back then, know this, they SUCK!  Unconventional I tell you!  Not only did she teach me to use righty scissors, but she told me *gasp* that it was okay to be left handed and *bigger gasp here* she was left handed too.  Sure it may not sound like much now, but back then it was a big deal to me.  She has probably long forgotten this two minute interaction, but it has stuck with me for a lifetime.  Lessons learned: it is okay to be different and if things don't work out try a new approach.

A Gal named Gayle -
I have a friend on Long Island who is just happy go lucky, it is contagious.  She's always cheery, sunny and positive.  It is so great to have people like that in my life.  Her happiness shines through and makes me appreciate everything I should be thankful for in my life.  When I first met her, I have to admit I thought she was a tad bit crazy as no one I know is that happy.  But, after getting to know her, I truly treasure that we got to know each other and she could inspire me to be a happier person.
Lesson learned: your attitude can affect everyone around you.

My Family -
I am continuously inspired by my family.  My mother for her ability to listen, my father for his sound and logical advice, my husband for his ability to keep a cool head, my in-laws who are always there to help, my aunt who has been there and done that,  and my children who are all very different and creative.
Lesson learned: everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses.

I am also reminded that I am an inspiration to other around me, especially to my children who watch how I behave and believe that this is normal (wink).  I am blessed to have so many great people in my life.  Just remember that people you don't even know might be inspired by you, maybe someone loves your hair, or holding a door might be the kind act that encourages them to be more thoughtful.  Who knows!!!  You might be one of my unmentioned inspirations:)
