Stony Creek Metropark - Play Structure at Eastwood Beach

Today we visited Stony Creek Metropark.  What a beautiful park.  There are over 4,000 acres to explore filled with bike and walking trails, beaches, picnic areas and so much more.

We spent our time today at the play structure at Eastwood Beach.

There is a structure for toddlers and a couple for the older children.

Swings for infants, children and one chair for children with special needs.

The structure is near the restrooms with ample picnic tables, seating for adults, garbage cans and a few trees to provide an escape from the sun.

I can imagine that this will be a very popular spot once summer is upon us and the beach is open too.

The Metropark also features a nature center, mountain bike skills course, disc-golf course, 18-hole regulation golf course, baseball diamonds, playgrounds, soccer fields, volleyball and basketball courts. Picnic areas with reservable shelters, grills and comfort stations are located throughout the park. Enjoy the best of nature and outdoor fun at Stony Creek Metropark.

  1. We went there over Easter and thought the play structures were way to close together, which will be even more of an issue when the beach is open and it's much more crowded. The cluster of play structures at Belle Isle is nearly as bad. Why do they do that, create such congestion when it could be avoided?
