Last week we visited Heritage Park in Farmington Hills. They have an awesome splash pad, covered pavilions, a playground, walking trails, nature center, restrooms and more. This park is free to the public and their hours are from 8 am to dusk and the splash pad runs from 10 am to 10 pm. Heritage Park is located on the west side of Farmington Road between Ten and Eleven Mile Roads.
The kids really had a grand time. The water was a great temperature, the jets were staggered, but more than half of them were going at the same time. I like that they have a sensor that you have to press every few minutes that saves water if no one is using the splash pad.
The restrooms were right by the splash pad and were decent. There were cob webs in the corners, but the floors were free of debris and looked clean otherwise.
There was plenty of space to set down a towel along the grass around the pad. There are also a few benches too. The actual pad is made of cement, so not so great for crawling children.
There were garbage cans along the outer perimeter and a few young trees for shade, but not much. In a few years they will be much bigger and it will be perfect.
If you get hungry there is a little snack shack right next to the restrooms.
Or you can bring your own lunch or snacks and eat in the pavilion.
