Sky Zone - Shelby Township

Sky Zone in Shelby Township recently opened the doors at their new facility in Shelby Township.  Located at 50810 Sabrina Drive in Shelby Township this trampoline park is conveniently located right off M-53 and the 23 mile exit.

Sky Zone is a large stand alone building near the end of Sabrina with parking along both sides.   The entrance is on the north side of the building and traffic around the building is one way, so you will need to enter the lot on the south side and drive around to the north side for a good spot.

From their website:
"Sky Zone is the original indoor trampoline park, and Sky Zone Shelby Township is proud to bring the unmatched, out-of-this-world, and high-flyin' FUN of the world's first all-trampoline, walled playing court to the Detroit metro area!
Sky Zone Shelby Township was offers open jump, a Foam Zone, SkyRobics fitness classes, 3-D Dodgeball (when available) and SkySlam. For just about any age, shape or size, Sky Zone Shelby Township is the ultimate 3-D play experience!"

Upon arrival you will be asked to fill out a waiver if you don't already have on on file.  You can save time by filling out your waiver online before you arrive.  Just click "Before you Jump: get your waiver now" on their website.  If not, simply fill out your waiver at the computer station right by the bleachers.

The next step is to pay.  Prices and hours are listed on the website.  SkySocks are required for all jumpers and parents who wish to enter the courts.  If you are a parent of a young child you can get a parent pass for free that allows you to enter the courts to assist your child.  If you want to jump too you will need to purchase a jump pass too:)

We LOVE these socks.  We wore them all day!  The bottom has a
grip material that keeps them from slipping around on slick surfaces,
like our wood floors at home.
A bit on deciding how long to play.  I found that with my 4 year old that 60 minutes was perfect.  It is a good starting point.  I would suggest a shorter time for younger guests and longer for older guests.

Sky Zone asks their guests to sit through a presentation about safety and rules to begin your jump experience.  Cubbies and lockers are available to store your belongings.

Sky Zone offers 3 Dodge Ball Courts, open jump, Foam Zone with five jumping stations, and SkySlam (basketball) with two stations. Concessions and video games are also available.

The open jump area provides participants with plenty of space to jump and fly through the 3D trampoline field.   Trampolines on the walls provides a truly unique experience.

What I loved about our experience:
  • The staff members are very friendly and are trained in management without the use of whistles. Jon, in particular, was fantastic with the little ones and showed a genuine talent when interacting with the children.
  • The management converted one of the dodge ball courts to a tot lot where children under 40 inches could play without the worry of being trampled by the older children.
  • The facility was super clean and well maintained.
  • Multiple dodge ball courts allows for versatility of use, whether they are used for younger jumping, fitness classes, programs, or breaking up the dodge ball games based on ability.
You can find Sky Zone:
