"Circle Adopts a Pet",written by Michigan Author, Colin McConnell, is a story about Circle who sets off to find the perfect dog.  Along the way he comes across many different dogs that are just not a good fit for him.

The story is a great lesson for little children about being selective and making good choices.  Rather than just taking home the first dog Circle meets, he realizes that many of the dogs would not work well for him.  The book uses a lot of adjectives like "hairy", "small" and "tall" and often the pages feature opposite ideas.

The book is a cute way to introduce the circle shape.  Children can trace the circle shape on each page and they can also talk about why each dog would not be a good match for Circle.  There are also a few activity pages in the back that enhance the reading experience, designed to develop fine motor skills, sequencing, recall, comprehension and more.

  4. This book looks super cute and I wish my kids were still little to read it to them. At 10 and 15 they would think I had gone crazy but maybe they already think I have.
