The Funky Frog Children’s Resale Boutique will be celebrating their 5th anniversary Saturday June 28th with a free puppet show performed by multi-talented puppeteer Chris Clark. Clark has been an entertainer for more than 35 years and has appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the David Letterman Show and the Rachael Ray Show. The family friendly show is scheduled for 2pm and light refreshments will be served.
“We’re so pleased Chris will be performing here in our store,” said Funky Frog owner Renee Perkins. “His show is great for kids of all ages. We hope a lot of people come out to see his show and join us in celebrating our anniversary.”
The Funky Frog Children’s Resale Boutique consigns children’s new and gently used clothing, toys and baby gear. Always happy to help local residents and children in need, they also collect diapers, pull-ups and adult incontinence products year round for distribution to local organizations such as the Rochester Area Neighborhood House, Kidz Kare and the OPC. So far, they have collected 4,200 diapers in 2014.
“Federal assistance programs do not pay for diapers and the need is critical,” Perkins said. An average baby can use up to 12 diapers daily; a toddler can use up to 8.
Perkins and her staff also participate in Raising Rochester by growing vegetables in raised beds outside the store that will be donated to local food banks.
