Bagger Dave's in Detroit #thirstdave

I was invited to participate (and invite three lucky fans) to join us in a fun event at Bagger Dave's (free of charge) last week.  We had such a great time trying out the food and the drinks... yum!!!  In the picture above (from left to right) is Jackie from Free is My Life, Melissa from Rock and Drool, Amanda (MDM winner #1) from The Nutritionists Reviews, 'Liv (MDM winner #2), Stephanie from Mom Among Chaos (winner #3), and me (Amber).

This Bagger Dave's is located in Downtown Detroit at 1224 Randolph Street.  I like how it was close to Greektown Casino, I-75, and I-375.

The atmosphere was inviting.  We were seated on the second level where there were booths, high top tables and a long bar.  The lower level has many tables and booths and the restaurant is family friendly with high chairs, boosters and a kid's menu.

We each were served a flight of drinks.  Our purpose, try each one and vote on our favorite.

From Left to Right in the image below: (from their menu)

PORTUGUESE BREEZE - A slightly spicy Pinot Grigio wine is combined with pear, peach, and citrus fruits to create a drink that’s both refreshing and delicious.
RED SKY - The citrus, grape, pomegranate and cherry juices found in this cocktail fit perfectly with the rich, dark, fruit flavors found in Malbec.
THE SILENCER - A dynamic blend of gin, rum, tequila, GranGala and moonshine with Bagger Dave’s Black Cherry Cola for a refreshing twist on a classic cocktail.
MOONSHINE MARY - Ole Smokey Moonshine gives this perennial classic a down home kick while applewood bacon, pepper jack cheese, olive and one dilly of a pickle help make this a bloody masterpiece.
ORANGE COOLER - Traverse City Whiskey Co. Bourbon and Bagger Dave’s Orange Cream Soda are mixed with a one-of-a-kind Blood Orange Sour mix to create a truly unique beverage experience.
ACAPULCO GOLD - The juice of real Sicilian blood oranges is used to make a unique twist on America’s favorite cocktail, the Margarita.
EXTRA HARD CIDER - The perfect drink when it’s time to chill. A refreshing blend of citrus, peach, and white grape juices bring out the crisp apple flavors found in the hard cider.

My favorite was the Acapulco Gold, but many of the gals at the table liked the Extra Hard Cider the best.  Most were very tasty, there were a couple I didn't drink after the first sip, like the Moonshine Mary, but it is all about personal taste, and I don't care for tomato juice.

For an appetizer we got to try the SANTA FE NACHOS {Sloppy Dave’s BBQ® or grilled chicken, Santa Fe Chipotle Sauce, shredded cheddar, mozzarella, lettuce, pico de gallo, and jalapeños. Sour cream on the side} MIX ‘N’ MATCH {Fresh-Cut Potato Fries and Dave’s Sweet Potato Chips} and NACHO CHIPS AND PICO DE GALLO®.

The appetizers were good.  The nachos had a sweet flavor to them (it was the sloppy joe mix), the chips and pico de gallo were very tasty, but my favorite was the Sweet Potato Chips.

Finally we ordered dinner.  I chose to have the Ono Chicken with a few modifications.  The Ono Chicken is a 7 oz. grilled chicken breast prepared with Bagger Dave's special marinade topped with sliced pineapple, swiss cheese, BBQ sauce, jalapeños, applewood bacon, and sautéed onions on a brioche bun.  I made it my own by subbing the brioche for a pretzel bun, I traded the swiss for mozzarella and I left off the jalapenos.  For a side I tried the Twisted Mac 'N' Cheese.

I really enjoyed the burger.  It was spectacular.  I loved the combination of all the flavors, which I would have never thought of putting together.  The pretzel bun was perfect.  Yum yum yum.  The Twisted Mac 'N' Cheese was okay.

Overall, it was a great experience with some delicious food, drink and awesome company.

Thank you Bagger Dave's for a fantastic night of great food and drinks.
