Handy Park Splash Pad in Redford

Find more that 30 Metro Detroit Splash Pads, Spray Parks and outdoor pools on our blog.

Handy Park  is located at 26650 Capitol Ave in Redford, Mi.  The site offers a Children's Play Area, Picnic Area and Pavilion, Concession Building, Public Rest Rooms, Tennis Courts, Softball Field, Little League Field, Soccer Field, Sand Volleyball Courts, Skate Park, Summer Splash Pad and Walking/Bike Track.

The Splashpad is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Noon-7pm and on days when the NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE predicts temperatures of 90 degrees or higher.  The park and splash pad are FREE and open to everyone.

The park is a wonderful place to spend the day.  The girls had a ton of fun playing in the water.  There are a ton of tables in the shade and under the pavilion to enjoy a snack, lunch or just sit and relax for a bit.

The splash pad consists of many different car themed elements.  The water was pretty cold, but it felt great since the weather was so hot the day we went.  The elements were on a timer and would cycle through a few different settings.

I also love that public restrooms were available in the community center and the park was very clean and maintained.

We had a lot of fun.  If this park were closer we would visit a lot more often.

Rosa and Carlyn take a minute to rest and warm up.
The girls are wearing their SwimZip bathing suits. SwimZip UV Swimwear blocks 98% of UVA and UVB withUPF 50+ sun protection. Not only that they are super cute and stylish. You can read more about the suits on our page, SwimZip - sun smart and stylish bathing suits.
