Cedar Point {Sandusky Ohio} #bloggingatCP @CedarPoint

First, a huge thank you to the folks at Cedar Point who invited my family to come for a courtesy visit this past weekend.  To be honest, I would have NEVER taken them on my own dime before this experience.  Tickets for Halloweekends on a Saturday (with a discount) are about $50 per adult and $35 for Junior admission.  (3 and under are free).  So we would have paid $135 for tickets and another $15 (online discount) for parking.  So $150 just to get in the park.

Our first ride was the carousel.  The girls opted to ride on the “safe” sled.

So, is it worth $150?  Yes… worth every penny.  It has been years since we visited Cedar Point (at least 10).  When I was younger, it was an annual adventure for us.  I have shied away from the experience since we have two little ones, thinking the cost of admission was not worth the experience. There is so much for the kids to do and with the  Parent Swap option, parents can have fun too.

Carlyn loved the Calypso, arms up.  (That is me in the green jacket.)

So for the little ones there are three sections: Planet Snoopy, Camp Snoopy and the Gemini Midway where there are plenty of rides for the younger guests.

You can find a list of all the family rides on the website: https://www.cedarpoint.com/things-to-do/family-rides and children’s rides are here: https://www.cedarpoint.com/things-to-do/kids-rides

Lots of rides for the little ones made the girls very happy.

There was so much to do, we didn’t have time to do it all.  Rosa had such a grand time, and Carlyn enjoyed her day too (she just wasn’t as in to it).

Riding the ferris wheel was a bit nerve wracking as the girls wanted to stand up.

There were plenty of rides that Rosa and Carlyn could ride with us or alone, so everyone got a chance to enjoy the fun.  Rosa’s favorite ride was the Matterhorn.  It was nice that both Chancellor and I could take turns riding with her.  The Monster, Calypso, Scrambler and Troika are all great rides to enjoy together if you have smaller children.

We didn’t put too much emphasis on the scary part of the park.  But this guy really caught Rosa’s eye and we hung out a few to hear him speak a few times.  There is so much to do for Halloweekends. We didn’t even address that part of the park, but if you (or your kids) love Haunted Houses and scary experiences, there was a lot to take in.

Rosa is in this car… I promise.

We enjoyed lunch and dinner while at the park, along with a few snacks and lots of lemonade:)  They have a cup you can buy and get unlimited refills for the day.  You can buy the cup online for $9.99 or at the park for $15. I really loved the Coca-Cola stations where you could pick from over 100 choices.  We stuck to the light lemonade which came in many different flavors.

We all LOVED the frozen yogurt station where we got to pick our flavor (Birthday Cake is awesome) and toppings.  The price is based on weight.

Overall, the experience was fantastic.  The entire culture of Cedar Point has transformed over the years.  You can really tell the staff is dedicated to customer service.  Every employee was very helpful and pleasant.  We are already planning to visit again before the season is over!

You can visit Cedar Point online, follow them on Facebook, Twitter or get tickets online (save some $$).
