Putting Edge – Novi, Michigan Review

I received free passes for my family to review Putting Edge. However, all opinions are 100% my own. All words and opinions are my own. Your experience may differ.

Metro Detroit Mommy Blogger Gwendolyn Mulholland – Finding Sanity In Our Crazy Life

My family loves Mini Golf and were excited to check out the Putting Edge location in Novi at Fountain Walk. Putting Edge is an Indoor Glow-in-the-Dark Mini Golf and Arcade center. With the summer weather being so temperamental it was nice to learn of an indoor option where we could engage in a little family friendly competition. We arrived not to long after opening on a Monday morning, so we had the whole place to ourselves. This is probably a good thing because our family friendly competitions can become a little creative or odd at times.
The area inside is laid out in such a way that you end up back at the front when you are done. As you go thru the 18 holes of Mini Golf, the themes change. We encountered Under the Sea, the Jungle, Knights and Dragons and ended with a Flower Garden. At different points along your game, you are given fun ideas to mix the game up. Ever golfed with a plunger? What about your feet? These fun ideas bring a whole new level of fun to the game because you never know what the next challenge will be.

Even though Putting Edge offers Glow-in-the-Dark fun, it was never too dark that we couldn’t see each other or that younger children would be scared. It is just dark enough to make things interesting and fun. When you check in you are even given a Glow-in-the-Dark bracelet to wear for identification. The arcade is located at the front when you enter but the promise of Mini Golf was enough to keep my kids away from the games. The games are good though if you have a large group that is playing and some finish ahead of the others.

When you get to the final hole, it offers you a chance of prizes if you can make the ball into the inner circle.(Think Skeeball for Mini Golf.) Your points earned depend on what ring your ball lands in. The inner circle wins you a grand prize but the circle out from that lets you spin a special prize wheel. Yes, mom got the ball in that one. I wish I could say I was a great player and let one of the children spin for me, but alas I did not. I took my spin and got a chance to pick a prize from the bag. The bag contained trinkets and snacks. I opted for the Fruit by the Foot because every mom needs to keep extra snacks on hand.

Putting Edge is also available for birthday or group parties and have a designated area with tables for eating and party fun. It is is not closed off but separated by dividers so that other guests of Putting Edge would not be walking thru your party.
I was very impressed with the whole experience (and not just because I won) at Putting Edge and found that it allowed us a great time to spend as a family. My children are 10 & 15 but even children who are younger would find this place just as much fun. If your family loves Mini Golf then you need to give Putting Edge a try.
