The Hawk Farmington Hills Community Center –

Farmington Hills opened the doors to a brand new community center in 2021. The expansive space is home to athletic facilities, a makerspace, esports, classrooms, a theater as well as a large aquatic center. The property is also home to a track, tennis courts and pickleball courts.

The Building of The Hawk in Farmington Hills

Located in the former Harrison High School building, The Hawk will be a place for residents as well as their guests to enjoy. The facility will offer aquatics, athletics, and also fitness classes. The Hawk will also host visual and performing arts, camps, and other programs and special events.

The city purchased the building from Farmington Public Schools in 2018. They began converting it into a community center in the fall of 2019. The city continued their work on the facility despite the COVID-19 global pandemic. The facility is slated to open in the coming weeks.

Amenities at The Hawk Farmington Hills Community Center

The Hawk is a 245,000 square foot community center that features an Aquatics Center. The Aquatics Center offers a zero-depth entry pool, water slide, lazy river, zip line, and climbing wall. Swim lessons, open swim times, and lifeguard/CPR training will all be offered. There is also a fitness center, gym, dance studios, and full-sized indoor basketball, pickleball, and volleyball courts.

In addition, there is an updated auditorium and smaller black box theater. A multipurpose center is also available with a venue for birthday parties with food service. A virtual legacy wall will honor Harrison High School alumni.

Gamers will also be excited to hear there will be a facility for state-of-the-art social and competitive gaming. And makers will enjoy a hands-on Makerspace with tools including a band saw, 3D printers, laser cutters, and more.

The 42-acre park accommodates recreational and competitive leagues, lessons, and tournaments for outdoor sports including lacrosse, football, tennis, track and field, soccer, pickleball and softball.

The Hawk Community Center in Farmington Hills hours are:
Monday through Thursday from 5:30 am until 10 PM. Pool/Fitness Center 5:30 am until 9:00 pm
Friday from 5:30 am until 9:00 pm. Pool/Fitness Center 5:30 am until 8:00 pm
Saturday from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm. Pool/Fitness Center 7:00 am until 6:00 pm
Sunday from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm. Pool/Fitness Center 8:00 am until 5:00 pm

The Hawk Membership and Cost

The Hawk offer three different types of passes to visit the facility. Annual, monthly and daily passes are all available for purchase with discounted rates for Farmington Hills residents. Visit their website for more information about The Hawk Membership and rates.

Currently the cost of day passes (as of 6/26/23) is:
Adults: $7 residents, $14 non-residents.
Teen (Ages 12 through 17): $6 residents, $12 non-residents.
Youth (Ages 3 through 11): $5 residents, $10 non-residents.
Child (Ages birth to 2): FREE
Adults (Ages 50+): $5 residents, $10 non-residents.
