Free Parenting Workshop in Northville

Skills for Effective Parent Advocacywith Kelly Orginski


Michigan Alliance for Families in Northwestern Wayne County is offering a free workshop, hosted by Kenya Harper-Black, on February 4, 2015 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Northville District Library, 212 West Cady Street, Northville, MI 48167. Sign-in opens at 5:00 pm. Light refreshments will be available.

This workshop will explore six skills parents can use to become more effective advocates for their children with disability.

We will explain understanding your child’s disability, knowing your school district, knowing your rights and responsibilities, using clear and effective communication, understanding the special education process, and knowing the dispute resolution process.   
Who should attend: Parents, grandparents, and caregivers.
