So, I'm a water snob - and my Hubby is a hot coffee addict. Well, maybe not so much an addict - but he transforms into a bear if it takes more than 5 minutes for his coffee to be ready in the morning. The Eco Vessel Growler has glamorized our water and coffee indulgences, not only for camping - but on the go! (Lions, and Tigers and
So - in the past, we have heated water by taking two stainless steel pots to the campsite with us, and setting them over a metal grate in the fire pit. Eventually, water boils. Trust me, it really does.
Now - we boil water at home, fill up our Eco Vessel growler and take it with us. Two days worth of hot coffee, guaranteed. You can always boil more over the fire and fill it back up, if you're into the whole rustic camping thing of course. It's not only great for coffee - but late night hot cocoa and tea, too - of course :)
So, what is this Eco Vessel Growler you wonder? I'd be happy to explain. It's a hunk'a hunk'a stainless steel with an insulated core to keep your cold
Here are the specs:
- TriMax Triple Insulation Technology
- Keeps cold 36 hours, hot up to 8 (These are the factory promises. We found the cold to last for more than 48 hours and the hot to last about 24).
- No BPA, no phthalates, no liners
- Premium 18/8 stainless steel
- Dual use leak proof top - wide opening for easy filling, smaller opening for easy drinking
- Interchangeable with flip spout lid
- Removable infuser for fruit, tea, herbs
- Sturdy carrying strap
So, as mentioned above - when we put this baby to the test, we found that the endurance is a little more awesome than they advertise. When I filled it with hot water at 10a one morning, the water was still hot enough to make coffee around the same time the next morning. Then, with cold water- it lasts for about 2 days, and I would say even longer if you don't have the expectation for it to be -ice- cold. When I filled it up with ice and left it on the counter, there was only about 1/8 of it melted after 24 hours. This is a pretty badass growler and I am proud to rock it on our playdates, camping trips, hikes, bikes and even just for a day running around. You can also take it to local coffee shops and fill it up with some fresh brewed coffee to share at your next business meeting. Piping hot coffee for your sleep-deprived co-workers?? Wait, isn't that something you can add to your company expense report? You're welcome ;) All joking aside, this big boss of a growler is worth every penny and I think every household needs 3!
For our purposes, we compared this to the Klean Kanteen. Here are the main differences we noted:
The Eco Vessel Growler is triple insulated, the Klean Kanteen Growler is double insulated. Though the Klean Kanteen boasts longer temperature retention - Eco Vessel beat them by at least 8 hours for each temp.
The fruit infusion attachment with the Eco Vessel does not exist with the Klean Kanteen - and it's a total game changer.
The cap on the Eco Vessel is triple the awesome. It features a secure seal, a smaller lid opening for drinking and pouring, and a larger opening for ice, guzzling and filling. The Klean Kanteen also features the larger opening - but having the option between the two is very nice.
All in all, the MDM Glamping award goes to the ECO VESSEL BOSS GROWLER!
Get your glam on and get one of these growlers! I will be emailing them to ask for a gold colored glittery one ... but until then, the silver one is pretty sparkley :) I love that this is made of stainless steel... no plastic, no toxins, no leeching, no breaking. Score!
Lots of love from Robin!
