My Accidental Essential Oil Journey - Recipe #1 After Sun Spray Recipe

My Accidental Essential Oil Journey

By: Alexia Mancilla-Jackson - Young Living Essential Oils Independent Distributor

It was a random Wednesday, in December, when I stumbled upon the world of essential oils. I was supposed to be preparing for tomorrow’s lesson, but instead I was procrastinating and I was hoping to find someone who wanted to join me. I went to visit a co-worker and once I entered her room, I smelled something incredible. It smelled like cinnamon, cloves and a little bit of lemon; instantly I was hooked! She was diffusing an oil blend called Thieves…and the rest in history!

Fast-forward seven months later and I am knee deep in diffusers, essential oils, new friends, an incredible oil community, and a variety of recipes to help my family and friends enjoy the benefits of using these oils in our everyday lives. From Lavender at night to create a calming aroma in my home, Frankincense to minimize visual blemishes on my face and add a healthy looking glow, Lemon to remove crayon from my walls, to Peppermint, which my husband uses to help support his digestion system. Everyday I am finding more ways to incorporate these oils into our daily routine, and I love it!

This summer I have had some time to play around and create lots of goodies using my oils. It’s been really exciting to see the natural alternatives I can make.

Over the next five weeks I will be sharing with you my top five favorite recipes.

After Sun Spray:

No matter how hard we try, someone always forgets to put on sunscreen or stays in the sun way too long. I love this spray because it’s kid safe and is so cooling to the skin!

Ingredients:
2 Tbsp. Aloe Gel
10 drops Young Living Lavender essential oil
10 drops Young Living Peppermint essential oil
5 drops Young Living Frankincense essential oil
Witch Hazel or filtered water (about 8oz)

How to:
Add the ingredients to a spray bottle (I get mine from the dollar store) and fill the rest of the bottle with water or witch hazel. Shake and apply!

Leave in the fridge for an extra cool burst!
