Free Workshop: Epilepsy & Seizure Disorders: Being an Advocate for Your Child at School

Michigan Alliance-PTI in Wayne County is offering a free learning opportunity, hosted by Kenya Harper-Black, on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Plymouth District Library, 223 South Main Street, Plymouth. Sign-in opens at 9:00 am.

During this workshop, you will learn how to advocate for your child with Epilepsy/Seizure Disorder in the educational setting.

Topics will include:

      > Understanding Epilepsy/Seizure Disorders       > Accommodations from medical to educational
      > Seizure plans, 504 plans and IEPs (Individualized Education Program)
      > Addressing behavioral issues
Who should attend: Students, families of children/young adults with epilepsy, school staff, community members and organizations.
