Assistive Technology and the IEP Workshop

Assistive Technology and the IEP
with Laura Taylor from Michigan's Integrated Technology Supports
Two Locations: Lathrup Village and Taylor

Michigan Alliance-PTI is offering two free workshops on March 2, 2016. (Sign-in starts 30 minutes before each presentation.)

The workshop in Lathrup Village will be held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Michigan First Credit Union, Community Room, 27000 Evergreen (at I-696), Lathrup Village. (Please park on the East and North sides of the building.)

The workshop in Taylor will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Wayne County Community College - Downriver Campus, Conference Rooms 3 & 4, 21000 Northline Road, Taylor.
Assistive technology enables children/youth with disabilities to participate more fully in all aspects of life (home, school, and community) and helps them access their right to a free appropriate, public education in the least restrictive environment.

This workshop will help you better understand assistive technology, including requesting an evaluation, the consideration process, and what happens when assistive technology is deemed appropriate by the Individual Education Program (IEP) team.

Who should attend: Parents of children/young adults with disabilities/learning challenges, school staff
