Jungle Java in Clinton Township - updated post

Jungle Java in Clinton Township is located at the end of Enterprise Drive which is off of Hall Road just east of Heydenreich.  It is in an old industrial building.  The main entrance and ample parking is around the back.

The Clinton Township Jungle Java is very similar to the Farmington Hills location in that they both have the same overall theme, a large play structure for both older and younger children and a coffee/snack bar for parents and children.

But the Clinton Township location has a few features that the Farmington Hills location does not.  First they have a very large basket ball court with a ton of basketballs (some needed to be inflated, and five, yes five, were stuck behind the basketball hoops out of reach).  This play area is sectioned off  so the balls stay contained.  The second feature is a laser area which parents are required to pay an extra fee if their child wants to play there, although much of the time this area is left unsupervised by any adult, making the paying and playing points moot.

The toddler area is quite large.  There is a climbing structure with two slides, a tunnel and some activities on the walls that Carlyn really enjoyed.  One of the parent lounges is right next to the toddler area which is convenient if the your infant/toddler needs some time to relax.

One thing I would love to see is some kind of barrier by the door so the children are not able to enter or exit the area without an adult.  I saw many children who were too big to be in the toddler section and too many of those children were unsupervised.  (This has been a consistent problem each time I have visited.)

The big play structure area is amazing.  So many slides, places to climb, mazes and a computerized game on the floor (well, there used to be a cool game on the floor, it's been broken for ages) that reacts to the children's movement.  Now that Rosa is older, she is more confident and had no problem navigating all the elements of the structure.  Carlyn only had an issue with a rope that was just a tiny bit too high for her.

Overall, I have to say I still love this place even though much of the equipment is showing a lot of wear.  It is a great place to take your children on a rainy or cold day when they need to burn off some energy.  I love the fact that there aren't any video games to suck money out of your pocket like a nearby pizza place.  Which easily makes up for the admission.
