Monroe Street Midway 2022: Classic Family Fun This Summer

Summer is in full swing this year at the Monroe Street Midway and other Downtown Detroit Parks. Guests can enjoy roller skating at the Rollout Detroit Roller Rink as well as basketball and many other sports at the Rocket Mortgage Sports Zone.

Rollout Detroit Roller Rink at Monroe Street Midway

We are skating into summer at the Monroe Street Midway. Rollout Detroit Roller Rink is run by RollerCade, the nation’s oldest Black-owned roller rink. Daily skate sessions are available for just $13 per person, which includes skate rental. The outdoor roller skating rink is open daily from noon until 9 pm with extended hours Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 11 pm. Since they fill up fast, we recommend that you book your skating session ahead of time. If you or your child are new to skating, then you can set up a beginner lesson on Friday at noon.

In addition to skate rental, the site has other necessary amenities such as lockers, seating, and restrooms. Grab a bit to eat at one of the many local restaurants. You can even check out the food trucks that line up along the Cadillac Square for weekday lunch breaks.
