Robot Garage - Rochester Hills

I have a houseful of builders in my home, so when I saw that The Robot Garage opened a couple of new locations (Rochester and Grosse Pointe) I was sure the kids would enjoy a trip to check them out.  We enjoyed a complimentary visit to their Rochester location so we could share our experience with you.

The Robot Garage is located in the Village of Rochester Hills.  This was my first experience visiting The Village.  I have to say, I have fallen in love, as if I didn't love Rochester enough already.

We visited The Robot Garage for open play.  When you first arrive you have to walk through the store to get to the open play area.  There is a lot to look at including awesome displays (which I assume will change over time).  Currently there is a winter home, all decked out.

The Robot Garage offers a ton of different building materials for sale.  Some even are available by the pound, making it easy to pick out just the right pieces for your next project.

The open play is right through this tunnel.

In addition to LEGO, they offer other great building systems, engineering toys, and robotics kits which include LaQ® from Japan, Plus Plus® from Denmark, and the Edison robot from Australia.

The kids had a fantastic time building and playing with the robots while they were there.  Two hours goes by very quickly and there was plenty to keep them busy.  The kids checked out ever station.  Carlyn and Enzo spent most of their time with the Duplo train.

Rosa really enjoyed the GoldieBlox and the Robot station. Some of the stations also had directions for building various objects which was also very cool.

In addition to open play and their store, The Robot Garage also offers classes, camps and birthday parties.

One of my favorite things about the Robot Garage is that it provides an environment where children can have a great time, and learn too.  While playing with building materials, children can develop small motor skills, reasoning and logic.  They learn how to plan ahead and problem solve while developing their spacial reasoning.

Younger guests can work on counting, color recognition, patterns and so much more.  When children work together they can work on teamwork skills and sharing, just to name a few.

The Robot Garage was extremely clean and well kept, right down to the bathrooms.  It would make a great location for your next play date, birthday party or impromptu visit when you need to get out of the house.
