Olga's Kitchen is now serving Sunday brunch at all locations. They are open from 10 am and serving brunch until 2 pm.
I had the chance to visit Olga's this week and sample some of what they will be offering guests. Currently, since they are testing out the market the menu is limited until they gauge response. There are two side dish choices- Greek Donuts and Cinnamon Toast Snackers. I tried the donuts which are bite-sized puffs (similar to a donut hole) fried, drizzled with honey and topped with candied pecans, with a side of honey to dip.
They were a delicious sweet treat! They were sweet enough I didn't feel the need to add more honey. They were not quite very moist, but not dense either. You get a side of four donuts for only $1.99.
For my entree I ordered The A.M. Olga.
It had seasoned beef & lamb, eggs, spinach, feta cheese and Olga sauce wrapped inside traditional Olga bread and included a small side (about the size of if you order a side of salad dressing) parfait topped with blueberries and strawberries on the side. The sandwich was very filling as it was good size. It had great flavor; in each bite it had a taste of each ingredient. I liked that it was real eggs and fresh spinach. It was also reasonably priced at $6.99. I'd definitely go back and order it again!
In addition to The A.M. Olga, two other entree choices are available, a Bacon, Egg & Cheddar wrap and Chicken & Olga-Laffle which is Olga's version of chicken and waffles with Olga bread topped with crispy chicken tenders and syrup.
One great thing I've always loved about Olga's is that it is kid friendly! Many Olga's also feature Curb-side service. Olga's got it's start in Birmingham, MI and to date has 24 MI locations and 1 in Illinois.
I think this new brunch menu is a great start to Olga's opening up for brunch on Sunday's. I'd love to see more choices as it continues, perhaps more choices like an Olga version of a pancake or crepes and a variety of sides including sausage & bacon. One other thing I'd like to note is that they feature Organic hot tea, something that not all restaurants offer and something as a tea drinker I appreciate!
Olga's will open for brunch starting this Mother's Day, Sunday May 8th and will be available at all 24 locations from 10am-2pm. It would be a nice treat for any mother, a kid friendly and reasonably priced brunch!
