The Beach at Campus Martius Park Offers Special After Work Food and Music Events Every Thursday and Friday

Thursdays feature Mix and Mingle happy hour networking and Fridays kick off the weekend with island sounds and Caribbean-style food

In downtown Detroit, it’s a party at The Beach at Campus Martius Park after work every Thursday and Friday from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. through August 26 with Thursday’s Mix and Mingle presented by Channel 955 and Marketing Associates Beach Party on Fridays.  These entertaining events have been going strong all summer long and with four more to go, there’s still plenty of beach fun coming up!

Thursday’s Mix and Mingle presented by Channel 955 offers a fun, relaxed atmosphere for social and professional networking with others who work in the city. iHeartMedia’s Boji spins a fresh mix of tunes to accompany delicious food and drink specials. As part of the season ending SummerFest activities, a Caribbean style event is planned for August 25 featuring food and drink choices from the region and music by Bahamian recording artist, Ya Tafari.

Every Friday ends the work week with a Caribbean-style celebration as Marketing Associates Beach Party brings live island sounds, eats and libations to the park. Reggae provides the base of the musical entertainment with each performance group bringing its own style and twist for a diverse and eclectic weekly music mix. Upcoming entertainers include The Flex Crew from Columbus, OH on July 29, King Mellowman and Mellow Runnings from Detroit, MI on August 5, Obiewon from Cleveland, OH on August 12, and Anthem from Bridgeport, CT on August 19.

  1. I have seen many downtown events and I immediately shy away from them because of the knowledge I have of what downtown Detroit is like and is known for. I think, "I would never bring my 4 kids down there for a fun activity" it is too dangerous. Am I wrong thinking this? What do you know that I do not know?

  2. I feel perfectly safe visiting Downtown Detroit. I think as long as you know where you are going and know where to park, Detroit can be a great resource for any family for fun. Have you visited the Campus Martius area recently, it is NOT AT All what you expect. I promise. It has been revitalized and feels almost like Downtown Birmingham.

  3. Proper management of corporate events Chicago is very important for businesses; they may target their audience by using the news media, wishing to generate media coverage, which will reach thousands or millions of people. They can also invite their audience to their events and reach them at the actual event.
