Date Night: Naruto Sushi in Sterling Heights

Hubs and I love sushi.  We have a few favs, but wanted to try something new.  This past weekend we tried out Naruto Sushi in Sterling Heights.  Naruto Sushi is located at 34788 Van Dyke in a strip plaza just south of 15 Mile.

First, I want to say that I was so excited to try their Volcano Roll (the one one fire).  I saw it on the menu and was reminded of the Volcano Roll my son had the day he graduated from Marine Boot Camp in Parris Island, which was out of this world.  Well, wah wah wah... meh.  It was okay.  In fact all of the sushi was okay.  It was fresh (so that is good, right, cause getting sick after eating sushi.. not fun), but even the dragon rolls were just okay.. which is one of my favs.

We tried an appetizer... again.. just okay.

Then finally, we tried two of their specials.. the yumyum roll (tempura) and rainbow roll (salmon/tuna, in the back).  The YumYum rolls was out of this world, crazy good.  Maybe I was just craving deep fried, unhealthy goodness.. LOL.

Overall, it was okay.  I would go back just for the YumYum roll, but the other than that, probably not.

  1. You mentioned that you have a couple of favorite sushi places. Where do you like to go? My family's always looking for good sushi. Thanks!

    1. Becky, unfortunately our favorite sushi place just closed. We too are on the lookout for an affordable replacement.
We did try out Sushi Gallery in Madison Heights, which was okay.
