DIY Halloween Jars

Halloween, DIY, crafts, jars

I love crafting even though most of my crafty creations turn into epic fails. The DIY Halloween Jars are so simple that you can craft them with your kids and the jars will turn out festive and cute. This project is a budget-friendly craft to spruce up your home for Halloween.

This project is one where I don’t want you to run out to the craft store and drop $50. We can craft Halloween jars with things you already have in your home. Grab a mason jar, or an old spaghetti jar and make sure all labels are off and they’re clean.

For the paint, feel free to use an acrylic that you already have or a spray paint. Yes, I did buy the spray paint since my husband was in a festive Halloween mood and spending cash. I added it to the cart. Shh, don’t tell. Spray or paint your jar. I added glitter to both jars while the paint was wet because glitter makes everything look better. Allow to dry completely.

The jar on the left I used a free downloadable image and printed it. I cut it out and used Mod Podge to adhere it to the jar. I had to add a few coats of Mod Podge to make it stick. Since the milk bottle had a small opening, I decided to use this jar for my Halloween flowers.

The mason jar, I want to look like Charlie Brown’s Great Pumpkin, so I painted a pumpkin and grass using my acrylic paints. I also added stickers because I decided it was boring. Feel free to use anything you have to decorate these jars. If could be all stickers if that’s what you like.

I added tea lights to the pumpkin jar to give it a glow. The paint was a tad dark to illuminate the jar too much.

I hope I gave you some ideas to get your DIY Halloween jar started. How do you decorate for Halloween on a budget?
