Holiday Nights at Greenfield Village

Metro Detroit Mommy will receive tickets to this event in exchange for this promotional post.  All opinions expressed belong to those of the author.  Your experience may differ.

Tis the season for creating traditions and memories.  One of my favorite holiday memories is spending the evening at the Eagle Tavern in Greenfield Village with my Mom, Dad and son.  This was before I was married, well over fifteen years ago. I remember the food being fantastic and unique, as it always is at Eagle Tavern. There was music, candlelit tables, and joy, warmth and love filled the space and each one of the chairs were filled with friendly patrons whom we got to know during dinner.  It was a great way to get in the Christmas spirit and we created memories to last a lifetime with our family.

Holiday Nights gives participants a chance to get in the Christmas mood by strolling the lantern lit streets of Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI.  Voted a top ten family holiday destination by USA Today and Reader's Digest, Holiday Nights is sure to leave you in the spirit.

Learn how traditions have evolved to those we still celebrate today, including the origins of drinking hot chocolate at the Giddings Family Home during the mid-1700s, popular stocking stuffers at the J.R. Jones General Store, to the early days of Christmas first being recognized as a national holiday inside Ford home, Edison Homestead and Sarah Jordan’s Boarding House. Take home a bit of inspiration for your own holiday meals after watching holiday recipes come to life during the cooking demonstrations inside the historic kitchens.

You can enhance your experience by adding dinner at Eagle Tavern (not recommended for younger patrons) or choose the casual buffet-style holiday turkey dinner (perfect for kids) at A Taste of History where your children will have the opportunity to meet Santa.   Both dinner packages sell out early, so it is best to get your tickets early.
