Why I Love Michigan Homeschool Connections - Homeschooler Info Night

This post has been brought to you by Michigan Homeschool Connections - Detroit's Premiere Homeschooling Community

One of the biggest things I learned in my five years teaching in New York public schools, my three years of experience in Michigan schools (student teaching and subbing), and having my son go through public schools, the schools are broken.  It is a rare find to find an exceptional teacher, a great program, education that inspires the children to learn more because they are genuinely interested in knowing more.

Rosleigh has been attending Michigan Homeschool Connectionss for a year and a half now.  I love the program because they offer Rosa the chance to interact with her peers and teachers in a classroom setting while providing her with an environment rich in learning experiences.

The classes are not based on standards set by the state, rather they focus on what the students are interested in and what the teachers have a passion for, which leads to excitement and a love of learning.

We personally use Michigan Homeschool Connections as a supplement to our curriculum and as a springboard for our in home lessons.  Attending classes allows an opportunity for Rosaleigh to develop relationships with her peers and take on responsibility for herself and her learning in a safe environment away from her parents.

Currently Michigan Homeschool Connections has seven campus locations across Metro Detroit offering a wide variety of classes that encompass preschool through grade twelve.  They also offer many special events and opportunities to their community throughout the year including family picnics, field trips, dances and more.

Finally, I love that classes can be covered by the state through a variety of different programs.  We participate in Source which is run by the Madison Schools, but there are other programs in our area which also will pay for these classes.

Are you getting started with homeschooling during the second semester of this school year or thinking about it?
Please join Michigan Homeschool Connections for a night packed full of information to help make the transition easier for you and your children!
