Great Wolf Lodge – Traverse City: Saving Money

During our recent staycation to Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City we asked Traverse City Tourism about some of the best places to eat with our family.  Red Mesa Grill was one of their recommendations.  Red Mesa Grill covered the cost of our meal in exchange for this promotional post.

Red Mesa Grill is located on US 31 just 1/2 mile east of the State Park in Traverse City, Michigan. All of the flavors of Latin America are celebrated at Red Mesa Grill.  They offer traditional and exotic specialties featuring the flavors of Mexico, The Caribbean, South America and Central America.  Red Mesa Grill is proud to serve only the freshest ingredients, making everything in house.

The drink special was the Blueberry Vanilla Margatini, which had an amazing flavor.  A great way to wind down and start a meal.

If the daily specials are not your thing, that is okay.  Red Mesa Grill stocks a full bar which features the largest and finest selection of tequila in the North.  Margaritas are made from scratch with their own sour mix which is freshly squeezed.  Chancellor liked the wide variety of local Micro Brews that were available on tap.

The decor was fun and festive.  There was plenty to take in while we waited for our order.  We especially enjoyed looking at the hot sauce collection and the warmth of the fireplace near our table.

I ordered the Jack Stuffed Shrimp which was full of flavor and the shrimp was wrapped in bacon.. so you know you can’t go wrong.  The portion size was perfect.

Chancellor ordered the Columbian Tuna which was also fantastic.  We both thought the sauteed veggies were perfect and tasty.

The kids ordered a Corn Dog and Mexcian Grilled Cheese (Quesadilla) which they both enjoyed.

We finished our meal with a Habanero Fried Ice Cream which was a little different.  The shell was a bit thicker than I am used to, but the shell being my favorite part, it was a great surprise.  It didn’t take long for the ice cream to disappear with the five of us sharing it.

Overall, it was a great meal and I would recommend Red Mesa Grill if you are in or near Traverse City.
