METRO DETROIT’S BOARD GAME LOUNGE IS GETTING A NEW LOCATION AND NEW LOOK

The staff of 3&UP Board Game Lounge recently found out what it was like to move over 1,000 board games in two days, as the popular Metro Detroit tabletop gaming destination moves to its new home in Plymouth’s historical old village.  After two years in their Main Street location, the owner’s Chris and Angela Erwin have decided to move to a 2-story, 1,600 square foot home built in 1900, located at 774 Starkweather in Plymouth.  “We decided it was time to take what we’ve already built here and make it feel a little more cozy,” says Chris Erwin.  “The space has tons of little rooms and nooks to escape from your electronic devices, have fun, and still feel like you are at home.”

When touring the new space it features a Michigan-made snack bar in the lobby, an entire upstairs full of party rooms for rent, and plans to add a self-serve coffee bar.  Rooms on the main floor have a designated category of games aligned against the walls.  Another main reason for the move is the close proximity of the new location to three Plymouth favorites, Hermann’s Old Town Grille, Station 885, and Liberty Street Brewing Company.  “We are hoping to capture the spirit of the businesses already established in Plymouth’s Old Village and some of their patrons as well,” says Brian Titus, Sales and Operations Manager at 3&UP Board Game Lounge.  “It is a great area to get a fantastic meal, craft beer, and now play over 1,000 board games with family and friends.”

Now open since June 3rd, the staff at 3&UP Board Game Lounge in conjunction with the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce has decided to host a grand re-opening event on Friday, June 23 starting at 12 pm with a ribbon cutting.  As a special treat, guests will be able to game for free from 12 pm – 5 pm, more details are provided on the companies’ Facebook page.  The new site has already hosted summer field trips, birthday parties, and two busy weekends of gaming.  For more information on monthly events, renting space for parties, or general information about the 3&UP Board Game Lounge visit their Facebook page and website at www.3andup.com
