Peace Dragon Books for Children

According to data from the National Education Association, the more students read for fun on their own time, the higher their reading scores. These titles from award-winning author Linda Ragsdale are sure to engage young readers and keep them reading away all summer long!

If your answer to, “I’m bored” has ever been to go read the dictionary, this hysterical “fabularictionary” is just for your littles! As children’s language skills develop, rhymes and new words are always a fun way to play. Linda Ragsdale’s Alphabetter will inspire readers of any age to play with their words and exercise their creativity!  I have to share that my favorite “word” from this book is “stelliant= stellar + brilliant.”

For any child struggling with letter recognition or the often dreaded handwriting, this is a library must have!  Linda Ragsdale tells a tale of determination using easy-to-read verbiage coupled with engaging illustrations by Anoosha Syed.  Letter and wordplay are sprinkled throughout this clever example of adventuring through adversity with a curious spirit and an open mind.  Letter recognition, vocabulary and a powerful message make this a triple threat for any preschool through elementary age reader.

This just may be the perfect combination of playfulness and teaching all bound into one beautifully illustrated piece of work.  Linda Ragsdale outdoes herself with this one, sharing the power of words and those who use them.  Perfect for children in Kindergarten through third grade who need some friendly reminders about the super power of the spoken word!

The only way to make this book more perfect would be to own it in a board book so my toddler can excitedly turn the pages without ripping!  This piece by author Linda Ragsdale has just the recipe for a great children's' book: repetition, readability, and relativeness.  Children can relate to many of this book’s characters, with the diverse and engaging illustrations.  The repetition and some pages having just one word, empower early readers to confidently “read” along.  This book is a must have for children ages 1-6 years and for any preschool childhood classroom.

Linda Ragsdale wants everyone to be a dragon, a Peace Dragon that is! As an author, illustrator, international speaker, and peace teacher, Linda has developed her Peace Dragon series to teach us how to harness our fiery energy into a peaceful and productive outlet by owning our human powers of view, voice, and choice. Linda invites you to be a peace dragon ambassador and join the 30,000 students she has taught around the world!
