Axle Brewing Company - Livernois Tap in Ferndale : Sponsored Post

Last week we had the pleasure of visiting the Axle Brewing Company's newest location, Livernois Tap, which is located in Ferndale, Michigan.  The family friendly beer hall is located on Livernois, just north of 8 Mile, on the west side of the road.  You can see a map here

Setting the mood with a great atmosphere:

Within seconds, I fell in love with their space.  It just has a great look and feel, inspired by contemporary breweries, urban parks and their own favorite places to meet up with friends and family.  This place hits the mark when it comes to good vibes, great cuisine, and tasty libations.

Inside you will find a welcoming, well lit, open dining space.

With a wide variety of seating options, everyone is sure to be happy.

I love the space above, as this would be perfect for relaxing with a group of friends.  Rosa and Carlyn enjoyed sitting here and reading a few of the fun books for children that fill the bookshelf on the wall behind them.

Guests can enjoy dining al-fresco, weather permitting.  This is where we chose to eat.  I loved the openness and the proximity to the corn hole games that kept the kids occupied while we enjoyed our food.

A gas fireplace is the focal point of the outdoor Biergarten.  While the space is family friendly, I can see hubby and I enjoying an adults-only night out here.

Unique, flavorful, & numerous adult beverage options:

Livernois Tap hosts a 10-barrel brewing system which compliments Axle Brewing Company's available brews. The beer menu offerings can range from 12 -15 difference selections of ciders and beers including ales, porters, Kolsch, ciders, meads and more all available in a 5-ounce tasting size or 16-ounce glass. Most of the beers are also available to-go in their 32-ounce crowler, which is a canned and sealed growler sized container.

Hubby and I decided to try (from left to right) the Noble Ghost (Grindgeist Blonde), Industriale (London Strong Porter), Cider (Medium Dry Michigan Cider), AlternaFacts (Black Rye IPA) and Hazel (Dry Raspberry Mead), each in a 5-ounce tasting size.  Each sample was unique, smooth, and full of flavor.

Not your typical bar fare:

For an appetizer, we tried the Chicken Schwarma Wings, which were bursting with flavor and perfect with the accompanying garlic sauce. (Livernois Tap Food Menu)

The french fries were also delectable.  The outside was crispy, while the inside was like mashed potatoes.  Paired with their special spicy aioli sauce, these taters were not your typical french fries.

The kid's menu items were amazing. I caused quite a bit of distress from both the girls when I asked for a bite of their items so I could report back to you about the flavor.  Rosa ordered the Mac and Cheese (the sauce was spectacular, noodles cooked to perfection) while Carlyn ordered the Popcorn Chicken (crispy with a tasty mild coating that is great for children).

Hubby ordered the Lamb Burger which is served with melted Havarti cheese, onion marmalade, and pesto mayo on a Za'atar Bun.  I thoroughly enjoyed my sample bite of this exceptional burger that far exceeds the expectations of the typical bar fare.

I ordered the New England Shrimp Roll which includes Old Bay Mayo, Pepperoncini on a Brioche Roll.  I.... just... can't... even....

(insert your favorite explicative) it was out of this world.  The roll was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The shrimp was tossed in a creamy sauce and garnished with the perfect combination of flavors that can only be described as YUM.  Seriously, when we go back, it will be so hard not to order this item again.

 YUM.

Sweet endings...

For dessert, we shared the Skillet Cookie, which is made with snickerdoodle, Creme Fraiche Gelato and drizzled with Butterscotch.  It was the perfect way to end the meal.

Overall, the experience was amazing.  I highly recommend Livernois Tap in Ferndale for families. It would also make a great place to visit with adult friends for a night out.
