Walter and Mary Burke Park: New Baltimore

I love having a teenager.  It makes life more interesting.  I grabbed my camera to take pictures while were were at the Walter and Mary Burke Park in New Baltimore and alas, no SD card (the teen had used it and left it on the TV).  So, no pictures.  Oh well, next time.

The Walter and Mary Burke Park is just off 23 Mile Road.  The park is located at 36300 Front Street in the heart of downtown New Baltimore.  This park offers a nice little beach for swimming, a dock for fishing, outdoor and enclosed pavillions, tons of picnic tables, restrooms, benches and two playscapes.

Parking was wonderful, there were a ton of spots open close to the park entrance.  We walked down the short sidewalk and right down to the beach.  Rosa and I enjoyed playing in the warm water.  The park hosts two play structures, one is huge and probably intended for children over the age of 4 (at least).  Rosa navigated much of it with no problem, but I felt very nervous letting her climb so high.  The play structure was way above my head.

The second play structure was much smaller and more suitable for Rosa.  She enjoyed playing on the slide and moved on to the swings.  The toddler swings were a little too close to the ground.  Rosa's feet dragged along the wood chips as I pushed her in the swing.

It was a very nice park that was not overly crowded.  We will go back soon to get pictures:)
