Spring is coming quickly and we have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather with frequent visits to local parks and the Zoo. It is so wonderful to be able to go outside and enjoy the fresh air. Yesterday we visited Halmich Park in Warren. It is located right off of 13 Mile Road (on the north side), between Dequindre and Ryan.
The park features three main playground areas with 5 play structures, plenty of swings (infant/toddler and regular), and other fun items for the children to use. There are also tennis courts, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, pavilions, a ton of picnic tables and plenty of parking.
We spent all of our time in the middle play area which consisted of a barn play structure, a green structure, a corn maze, a set of swings and another play area. The ground was very soggy around everything except the barn and swings, so it really limited Rosa’s play, but she had a blast.
The park had a few trash cans, but there was trash and debris on the ground around the picnic table by the playground. I didn’t see any other garbage in the park, just seemed like a group of people came by recently and didn’t care to clean up after themselves.
I’m not sure if there are restrooms, but if they are on site, they are not easily accessible from the play structures. It looked like they might have been in the middle of the baseball diamonds.
Overall, this is a very nice park with a ton of things for kids of all ages to do.
