2013 Hilton HHonors Skate America

The International Skating Union (ISU) announced the athlete selections for the 2013 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, which will begin Friday, October 18 through Sunday, October 20 with 2013 Hilton HHonors Skate America at Joe Louis Arena. Skate America will feature the four reigning U.S. champions Ashley Wagner (ladies), Max Aaron (men's), Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir (pairs) and Meryl Davis and Charlie White (ice dancing). Evan Lysacek, the 2010 Olympic champion, will also represent Team USA at Skate America. He will attempt to defend his Olympic title at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games next February in Sochi, Russia.

The Grand Prix Series, entering its 19th season, incorporates six international figure skating competitions as a unified point-scoring series that awards prize money to eligible skaters. At the conclusion of the series, athletes' points are totaled, and the top six ladies, men, pairs and ice dancing teams are invited to compete at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. The Grand Prix Final is scheduled for Dec. 5-8, 2013, in Fukuoka, Japan.
