Clifton Chase and the Arrow of Light - review and giveaway

Clifton Chase and the Arrow of Light is a wonderfully engaging, historical fantasy about a middle school boy who loses a bet, then gets thrown back into history in what seems to be an effort to change history.

The Arrow of Light has chosen Clifton, somewhat like Excalibur chose King Arthur.  The arrow is magical and speaks to Clifton by lighting up and moving indicating its desire.

The book is very well written and captivating.  I love how the story entwines historical facts throughout, which encouraged me (and I'm sure anyone reading it) to research and get more information about King Richard III and his nephews.   It would be a great starting point for a historical lesson on this part of English history.

Some ideas for homeschooling parents or teachers using this book:
Compare history and this book - what is real and what is made up?
Have the student write their own story about ad different subject in history in the same manner.
Talk about the way that Clifton handled his issues with Ryan, what would you have done?
Richard III bones were found. Watch this video then talk about how we identify remains.
Explore the history of Richard III and the Royal Throne.
Talk about the current government of England and how it is different from the times of Richard III
Talk about English Royalty and how one becomes a King or Queen.
