Cirque Dreams - Holidaze - recap

I am so excited to be able to have the opportunity to review Cirque Holidaze!  I have three daughters ages 13, 12 and 9, who were just as excited to attend as I was.  We had tickets for the Tuesday, December 3rd show at 7:30 pm.  We arrived early at the beautifully holiday decorated Fox Theater and parked across the street at Tiger Stadium.  Unsure as to how full a Tuesday evening show would be, I was pleasantly surprised to see a large and eager crowd ready to experience the fun.  The ushers led us to our seats and the show began.

The first thing that amazed us is the costumes.  They were whimsical, sparkling, elegant and fun.  At one point, the actors were dressed up as ornaments and candy canes!  The stage was decorated for Christmas with giant presents and a large Christmas tree.  The show opened with acrobatics, a giant yo-yo spinner, a choo-choo train and lots of song and dance.  The vocals were perfect and the music blended seamlessly with the show.  The show included men and women hanging from hoops, ribbons, and each other - even sometimes by their necks!  We saw amazing roller skating stunts, a juggler that we all agreed was the best that we’d ever seen and many other feats that were simply astounding and included balancing on tables and ladders, walking on stilts, flipping, hula hooping and swinging.  There was even a part of the show that was interactive with the audience and was an absolute blast.  I won’t spoil the fun, but there was certainly lots of laughs to be had.

The talent was top notch and the show had moments of elegance, excitement, sweetness, courage and nail-biting craziness.  The girls and I all left feeling like we had a wonderful time and cannot wait to attend next year.  If you are looking for a fun evening out for your family this weekend, I highly recommend Cirque Holidaze!
