Volunteers Needed for Annual Cleanup at Red Oaks Nature Center

OAKLAND COUNTY – Oakland County Parks and Recreation seeks volunteers to lend a helping hand at the fourth annual Red Oaks Nature Center Cleanup Sunday, April 27. Participants may stay for the day or choose from two time slots: 9-11 a.m. or noon-2 p.m. Lunch, drinks and snacks are provided from 11 a.m. – noon. Volunteers must bring gloves and a rake.
“This will be a great opportunity to give back to our community and a chance to fight back against paying higher taxes by avoiding contracts for this work. It will be a fun day for everyone and participants are encouraged to bring friends, family, church groups, school groups and civic organizations,” Oakland County Commissioner Gary McGillivray said.
Previous volunteering experience is not required. Call 248-975-9717 or email volunteer@oakgov.com for details. The event is sponsored by Commissioner McGillivray. The Red Oaks Nature Center is located at 30300 Hales Street in Madison Heights.
