Oakland County Fair: July 4 – 13 at Springfield Oaks County Park in Davisburg

A summer tradition is here again - the Oakland County Fair runs July 4 – 13 at Springfield Oaks County Park in Davisburg.

Grandstand events, contests, fair food, Big Rock Amusements Carnival, fireworks, free live concerts and the famous 50¢ bottomless glass of chocolate milk are fair favorites. Visitors can stroll through many barns to see horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, rabbits and newborn animals in the Miracle of Birth Barn.
“As a presenting sponsor, Oakland County Parks is excited for all the new features that the fair will offer including two free concerts,” Oakland County Parks Executive Officer Dan Stencil said.

Daily activities include project displays in the historic Ellis Barn by the 4-H Club, open
9 a.m.-8 p.m. daily; animal exhibits; a Safari Petting Zoo; horse shows; an antique tractor display and commercial exhibits. Some activities will be held several times each day: pig races; Globe of Death Motorcycle Show; and circus shows.

New this year is the children’s Pirate Island interactive event, where kids can play in a theatre show and dress up as pirates while helping create the story line.

The county’s agricultural heritage is brought to life at the Miracle of Birth Barn, where fair goers can witness the live births of pigs, calves and lambs; and baby chicks hatch from eggs.

Evening (7 p.m.) Grandstand Events include an off-road demo derby; Championship Figure Eight Races; Bullmania Rodeo; Monster Truck Shoot-out; and Firefighters Jubilee Muster and antique fire truck show.
