Yesterday we finally visited the indoor Aquatic Center in Troy courtesy of the Troy Community Center. The girls had a wonderful time.
The Troy Community Center is located at 3179 Livernois, just north of Big Beaver, just minutes from I-75. The building is home to an indoor pool, Rainbow Preschool, gymnasium, fitness center, childcare room, four studios (for dancing and aerobics), locker rooms, a teen room and game room.
Their outside facilities include jogging and Jogging & Walking paths, skate park, bocce & shuffleboard courts, outdoor playground, picnic shelter and outdoor pool & splash park.
Admission fees to the Community Center as of 2/17/2015
This is a great resource for fun for the community and surrounding areas.
The indoor pool area includes a includes adult therapy pool, lap lanes, slides and water toy area. There are also pool noodles, kick boards and basketballs for the kids (or adults) to use.
I loved the zero depth entrance, warm water and warm air in the pool area. The girls really enjoyed playing on the lily pad cross area (pictured below). Carlyn (age 2.5) needed help to cross, but Rosa (age 5.5) did this on her own at least 20 times.
The pool area offers three slides, one huge slide, a smaller one (which was closed) and a toddler slide in the kiddie area. Rosa was not brave enough to try the big slide as the water at the end would have been up to her chin. They both enjoyed the smaller slide in the kiddie area.
The life guards were very alert and constantly checking the pool and making sure everyone was okay. They were all very friendly and helpful.
There are Locker Rooms available for Men, Women and Families. Each locker room has restrooms, changing area, showers (with soap), hair dryers, bathing suit spinners, and lockers (bring your own lock).
We had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting again.
