My Accidental Essential Oil Journey- Recipe #3 Owie Sticks

My Accidental Essential Oil Journey

By: Alexia Mancilla-Jackson - Young Living Essential Oils Independent Distributor

It was a random Wednesday, in December, when I stumbled upon the world of essential oils. I was supposed to be preparing for tomorrow’s lesson, but instead I was procrastinating and I was hoping to find someone who wanted to join me. I went to visit a co-worker and once I entered her room, I smelled something incredible. It smelled like cinnamon, cloves and a little bit of lemon; instantly I was hooked! She was diffusing an oil blend called Thieves…and the rest in history!

Over the next five weeks I will be sharing with you my top five favorite recipes.

1. After Sun Spray 8/5/15
2. Bug Off! Lotion Bar 8/12/15
3. Owie Sticks 8/19/15
4. Face Wash 8/26/15
5. Foot Soak 9/2/15

Owie Sticks:

I use this for cuts and scrapes, burns, bruises and bug bites! You can even use it as a moisturizer for hands, lips, elbows and heels. Basically this is the bomb diggity of all salves. I decided to store this one in chap stick containers. That way I can stick them in my diaper bag or purse and have it on the go!

1/4 cup unrefined organic coconut oil
1/4 cup organic grape seed oil
1 Tbsp. organic beeswax
20 drops Young Living Lavender essential oil
12 drops Young Living Frankincense essential oil
10 drops Young Living Lemon essential oil
8 drops Young Living Tea Tree essential oil

How to:
In a double boiler, or a homemade one like mine add beeswax and melt that first. Then add your coconut oil, grape seed oil to the glass bowl.

Once everything is completely melted, remove from heat and pour into a glass measuring cup.
Add essential oils and pour into your containers.
