The newest traveling exhibit is based on the internationally best-selling book, Worst-Case Scenario: Survival Handbook. This HIGHLY interactive survival gymnasium will put visitors in weird, wacky but possible situations. With a 76,000-ball pit as its centerpiece, a horizontal climbing wall, a train car jump, lock picking challenges, upside-down tic-tac-toe and more—this experience immerses you in various challenges to build your survival smarts.  Please note the minimum heights for the ball pit is 42 inches.

Worst-Case Scenario: Survival Experience

The temporary exhibit at the Imagination Station was a huge hit with my children (ages 6, 9, and 12). They all spent quite a lot of time in the ball pit area. Rosaleigh (age 12) and Carlyn (age 9) both enjoyed reading about how to survive specific situations.

Rosaleigh and I were both drawn to the lock picking station. Several locks and tools were on display. This section told us how the locks worked, but didn’t actually show us how to pick the lock. While the survival wheel did explain how to escape a variety of animal attacks.

Next to the ball pit, the train simulation (pictured above) was also very popular with the children. Children could practice jumping from one train car to the next. Some of the other fun learning opportunities included scaling a wall, a lie detector station, upside down tic-tac-toe, and a germ tunnel (ewwww).

Overall, we had an amazing time visiting the Imagination Station. Our family spent four hours at the museum, with about two hours exploring the Worst-Case Scenario exhibit space. The children were not ready to leave when the museum closed.
