A Detroit Tigers Goodfellows game package for Kids Opening Day at Comerica Park is on sale now! Fans have an opportunity to help The Old Newsboys’ Goodfellow Fund of Detroit ensure there is "No kiddie without a Christmas” as the Detroit Tigers take on the Boston Red Sox on Sunday, April 9 at 1:10 p.m.

“What a fitting day for our organization to participate in at Comerica Park!  Kids Opening Day, like our organization, is all about the kids and we are ready to have some fun at the ballpark to benefit Detroit youth,” said Mike Jennings, president of the Detroit Goodfellows. “We really appreciate the Detroit Tigers choosing us to be part of this program.”  

The special ticket package includes choice of an upper box infield, mezzanine, upper reserved infield, upper grandstand or lower baseline box ticket and an exclusive Detroit Tigers/Detroit Goodfellows hoodie. The Detroit Goodfellows will receive $5 from every special ticket sold. Packages are now available for purchase at . The Detroit Goodfellows annually distributes 33,000 holiday gift packages through Detroit police precincts to needy children in Detroit, Hamtramck, Highland Park, Harper Woods and River Rouge. The 103-year-old charity’s mission is to ensure that there is “No Kiddie Without a Christmas.”

Founded in 1914, the Detroit Goodfellows is the original and oldest Goodfellows organization and is not affiliated with any other Goodfellow group. It also sponsors a dental program for children through University of Detroit Mercy Dental School, awards scholarships through Wayne State University, provides free shoes to children in need and helps send hundreds of needy children to camp each summer.
