Tips for Visiting

The first thing to remember is that no alcohol or glass containers are allowed at the park. There are several grills and picnic areas throughout the park and shelters can be reserved.

Restroom building and picnic tables

During our visit, we noticed that the swimming area was very shallow. Surprisingly, my girls swam all the way out to the buoys and it was about three feet at the deepest part. Of course, this may change.

Surprisingly, there are little to no rocks in the beach area, which is nice for swimming. The lake bottom was a mixture of fine sand, silt, and clay which felt sticky in some places. We didn’t see any fish in the swimming area, and the few plants.

The beach is not too far from the parking area. Additionally, a grassy picnic area with several shady trees are within close proximity of the beach. Overall, we had an amazing time and would recommend a visit to this park.
