Things to do at Rochester Municipal Park

I like to think of the Rochester Municipal Park as the all seasons park.  Regardless of the time of year, there are so many enjoyable things to do while visiting the park.  Beyond it's two separate play structures, there are trails, rivers, streams, volleyball nets, tennis courts, and you can even find music on Thursday nights in July.

Are you looking for something to do this weekend?  The Rochester Municipal Park can provide fun for the entire family.  Here are ideas for planning your day at the park.

Bring a fishing pole or net.  The park has a catch and release pond that is great for introducing fishing to children.

Bring your racket and have fun playing a game of tennis.  Courts are open to the public.

The park is home to many different types of wildlife.  On any given day you will see deer, ducks, and fish.

Bring a book and relax by the water.  You will find benches, steps, and picnic tables to relax and enjoy nature.

If you are a resident of Rochester you can consider renting one of the pavilions for a party or event.  But on any given day, they are open for your enjoyment.  Perfect for enjoying lunch out of the sun.

The park has three different play areas. Always a favorite for little ones!

The park offers water fountains and public restrooms during the summer months.  Perfect for those hot days when you need to refill your water bottle.

Hit the trails.  The Rochester Municipal Park is connected to the Paint Creek Trial.  Perfect for biking, walking, and enjoying the beautiful fall colors.

When visiting the park, plan on spending a few hours.  It has so much to offer.  Each fall the Arts and Apples Festival is located at the Rochester Municipal Park.  This is also a great family event.  Are you interested in seeing more pictures of the park?
