2018 Outlander Sport #DriveMitsubishi #promo

A couple of weeks ago I was able to test drive the 2018 Outlander Sport SEL 2.4 for a week for free in exchange for sharing my experience with the car with you.  This is the first time I have ever driven a brand new car.  The whole experience was amazing.

First, I am currently driving a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan.  It has all the bells and whistles for a 2009, but a lot has changed in ten years... and cars have come a long way since then.  It was a little overwhelming driving a brand new car with so many awesome features, but in an amazing way.

2018 Outlander Sport  SEL 2.4

So, let's talk about the car.  The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SEL 2.4 is a four door SUV crossover with seating for five.  It features a spectacular panoramic glass roof, lots of room for passengers and cargo, comfortable seats and a smooth quiet ride.

Safety Features

A few of the features that stood out right away were safety features, like the rearview camera, super-wide HID headlights (whoa.. I can see everything), the car even warned me that the roads may be icy.  Although I never experience some of the more advanced safety features like the forward collision mitigation and lane departure warning, it made me feel better knowing the features were there to help keep my family safe on the road.

Car Seat Safety

So, most of you know I am a bit of a car seat advocate.. so let's talk car seats.  This car is outfitted with two sets of LATCH anchors on both the rear passenger and rear driver sides, along with two sets of tether anchors.  (It should be noted that I don't remember seeing a tether anchor for the middle rear seat, however all documentation I reviewed state it is there.) The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport as acceptable in regards to car seat safety features ease of use.

Being a family of 5 with all of our children needing boosters or car seats, I was not able to seat all my children safely in the back seat with our current car seats.

Okay, let’s talk technology.  I am in love with all the new features the current cars have available.  I was able to sync my phone to the car and listen to music, take phone calls, it was amazing!  The 7 inch touch screen display is easy to see and use.  I also love that the display shows how much battery your phone has left... that's cool.  I didn't have time to explore all the features.. but two things that jumped out at me were the keyless driving (so you don't need to put the key in the ignition.. it just needs to be in the car) and the side mirrors automatically folded in when you locked the car.

In the winter, one of best features is heated seats.  However, what I love about this car is that they seats stay ON, so when you restart the car, the seats are already going.  Perfect when you want a warm toasty car on a cold winter day.

The technology, comfort and safety features make this a solid choice for a family of up to four.
