Imagination Station Is Toledo’s Spring Break Destination

Exhibits, events and drawing to win round-trip tickets to Florida
among activities to beat cabin fever

TOLEDO, Ohio – The sun is shining, the birds are singing and Imagination Station is bursting with activities for those ready to shake off the winter blahs and have fun with science. Visitors are invited to drop in for a day of spring break excitement Sunday, March 25 through Saturday, April 7.

All visitors to Imagination Station during spring break will be entered to win four round-trip tickets to Florida on Allegiant Airlines, courtesy of Toledo Express Airport, and other awesome prizes including a FitBit activity tracker (drawn week 1) and a Flybrix drone kit (drawn week 2).

In addition to the hundreds of interactive, hands-on exhibits and live science demonstrations, visitors are invited to explore:

Build Toledo presented by Lathrop: Future architects, structural engineers, city planners and community artists are encouraged to design and construct their vision for the future of the Glass City with a visit to the science center’s temporary exhibit, open through April 15.

Flight: The Sky’s the Limit presented by Toledo Jet: Spring break visitors will be among the first to board Imagination Station’s newest permanent exhibit. The flight simulator experience takes visitors to new heights as they test their aviation skills at the controls of a Saab 340 jet.

Plein Air: The works on the gallery wall were made by art students from The University of Toledo. They were made on-site, at Imagination Station, as part of a class titled 2D Visual Perception: Plein Air Painting. Though a little different from the traditional plein air, which typically means "painting outside," the course maintains an emphasis on observation, urgency, and immediacy; which are key components of the plein air approach.
