Maybury Farm in Northville is the perfect place to spend the day if your family loves to spend time with animals. This family friendly working farm offers a unique and up close experience with a focus on education.
Maybury Farm Location
The farm is located at 50165 8 Mile Rd. which is between Beck and Napier and just a few minutes from I96 and I275.
The Working Farm is operated by the Northville Community Foundation and is a 501(c)3. Even though Maybury Farm leases the 85-acre property of farmland and forest from the State, they receive no tax dollars from the State to operate. Guests do not need a state park pass to visit the Farm, they just pay the farm admission (subject to change).
Maybury Farm’s Mission
Maybury Farm’s mission is to connect the community to animals and agriculture. Their goal is to help students and families understand where their food and fiber comes from and as well as give them opportunities for hands-on experiences. To meet their mission goals, this working farm offers educational tours for homeschools, traditional schools, scout groups and childcare centers (and also some senior groups!).
Our Experience
What we loved about Maybury Farm were all the opportunities to interact with the animals. Not only is it exciting to be able to greet goats, bunnies, horses, sheep, and other animals, but it also gives children a chance to really connect with the animals and create an understanding of how to treat them well.
During the regular season guest will have the opportunity to participate in animal engagement sessions throughout the day. Farmers will bring out the animals to interact with the community, provide guests with key information, and answer questions.
Maybury Farm also offers a play structure, hayrides, picnic areas and a small lake (where we spotted thousands of tadpoles).
Finally, the farm store offers a wide variety of toys, books, snacks and much more. The girls enjoyed wandering around looking at all they had to offer.
Trailhead Playground
The new inclusive playground offers plenty of space for children to run, jump, climb, swing, and slide. The park is easily accessible from both the main State Park entrance as well as the Maybury Farm parking lot.
2021 Maybury Farm Hours and Cost:

From now until 4/13 the farm will be open on Saturdays & Sundays, 12-5pm.
Starting April 13th, 2021 Maybury Farm will be open Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
Daily membership is $5.00 per person. Children under 2 are free.
Yearly Membership is also available for $60 for a family of 4. Each additional family member is $10.
